Also würde die Platte immer wieder kaufen. Ich habe die gleiche Platte schon mal vor ein paar Jahren in mein NAS als Ersatz eingebaut. Sie läuft immer noch zu meiner vollen Zufriedenheit.

I ordered two of these drives yesterday and they arrived today. I bought these for storing image backups for two super micro computer systems. I I keep redundant backups.

I installed each of these drives in to a USB-3 external drive enclosure. Made a full partition and formatted them NTFS with the default sectors. With the first one I made a full system image backup of the main boot drive containing the OS, the locally installed programs, and the local user files. I was surprised at the speed this backup finished. This drive performs very decently. There was a lot of data to back up.

The two drives will be connected to the servers and be accessible 24/7 doing automatic scheduled image backups along with restore points. For my computers I keep 4 separate full backup images (two image backups are kept off line). This type of redundancy allows for very good and reliable security. I cannot afford to have a system down for a long time because of failed backups in case of a crash or some other fault where data and or system recovery can easily fix the issues.

If I had to restore one of the super micros from the backup image, it should come back within about 60 to 80 minutes. While the restore is happening I can go have my dinner. When I get back the system should be back up and running as if nothing happened. If I had to install one one of these computers with everything from zero as like when new, this could take me over three days of full time work. Very frustrating and time consuming work.

This is the first day using these drives and so-far they have been working well. At present I cannot comment any experience with long term use. In the past I have been using Seagate drives for data storage and backup system images, and had very good experience with them.

I had to replace a 2TB Seagate backup drive yesterday because after 11 years running 24/7 it failed. This drive served me very well. It was used for backups over three generations of servers. During its time it was considered a huge drive.

Tip: To make drives last longer have a fan blowing air on them. Drawing the heat from them makes for greater long term reliability.
